SIBU: SibuJaya is gearing up for a quantum leap and that would happen when all the right movers and shakers come together, says HDCam Sdn Bhd chairman Mohd Asman Ahmad.
Asman, who is also Sarawak Housing Development Corporation chief executive officer, was in SibuJaya in his capacity as chairman of HDCam, the landowner of the sprawling 485.6ha township.
“I sincerely believe if we all put our hearts and minds into it, with the current passion and dedication exhibited by all parties, private and government agencies alike, we could be on the threshold of this new leap into an exciting future for SibuJaya,” he added.
Asman recounted that the township had undergone tremendous transformation since its inception more than 20 years ago, with one giant leap during the watch of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg when the latter was Housing Minister.
“This leap was in the form of a massive re-planning that propelled SibuJaya into where it is today, a modern, orderly and vibrant township,” he said.
It was also this re-planning which also led to SibuJaya picking up three awards along the way, the first being for its masterplan, followed by another several years later for its residential development and recently, a third award for its commercial development.
“This latest award did not come about by accident.
“Like the previous two, it was because of sheer hard work and tenacity and I must congratulate Distrepark Sdn Bhd, the master developer for its grit and determination in building SibuJaya,” he said.
Asman also said that HDCam, as the landowner, was committed to working closely with all the relevant authorities in ensuring that SibuJaya continued to grow at an exciting pace for the benefit of the people.
“We must never lose sight that we are here for the people in their quest to find affordable and quality housing,” he stressed.
After the meeting, the board of directors went on site to view ongoing construction of the hot-selling Coral Avenue homes and facilities located within the township before dropping in on the newly opened SibuJaya Weekend Bazaar, managed by Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC).
On hand to show them around were the SRDC deputy chairman Robert Lau Hui Yew and zone councillors in-charge of SibuJaya, Kong Yii Tee and Halimah Japar.
He also thanked the master developer for its assistance in enhancing decorative lighting at the site.
“We are transplanting some of the lanterns used at the Sibu International Lantern Festival to SibuJaya and we hope that with more corporate assistance from the business sector, we can further beautify this township with more decorative lighting,” he added.
Amongst those who were present were directors from Housing Development Corporation, Dayang Zaleha Abang Muzi and Joel @ Berinau Banyin, as well as from Amcorp Properties Datuk Che Md Nawawi Ismail, Azmi Hashim, Azlan Baqee Abdullah and Mohd Fadzil Hamid.

SIBU: Vibrant Sibu Jaya township is gearing up for a quantum leap, that would happen when all the right movers and shakers come together, said chairman of HDCam Sdn Bhd Mohd Asman Ahmad.
He said this when chairing his first board meeting as chairman of HDCam, the landowner of the sprawling 1,200-acre township last week in Sibu Jaya.
Mohd Asman is also the chief executive officer of Housing Development Corporation of Sarawak.
“I sincerely believe if we all put our hearts and minds into it, with the current passion and dedication exhibited by all parties, private and government agencies alike, we could be on the threshold of this new leap into an exciting future for Sibu Jaya,” he added.

On hand to show them around were the council’s deputy chairman Robert Lau Hui Yew and zone councillors in charge of Sibu Jaya, Kong Yii Tee and Halimah Japar.
“The visitors were clearly impressed by the orderliness of the weekend bazaar and took time to patronise the stalls selling a myriad of local delicacies and merchandise,” Lau said.
He thanked Distrepark Sdn Bhd for its assistance in enhancing decorative lighting at the site.
