Distrepark sales and marketing executive Agatha Ting said the programme was hosted to engage children in Rumah Philip Kayak, near the township.

“This is our way to be with the community surrounding the township,” she said.

The event, from 9am to 12 noon, saw some 80 children from all races taking part in a colouring and fun games.

Company lawyer William Ting said it was an innovative way for the developer to be with the community.

“The event is a reprieve to longhouse folk as they are busy preparing for Gawai.

“I look forward to taking part in more outreach programmes by Distrepark as it brings everyone closer and creates a very healthy environment for the children to engage in meaningful and fun activities,” he said.
