SIBU JAYA:<\/strong> Another 200 trees have been planted along the South Boulevard of Sibu Jaya township as part of the continuous move to make the place a green breezy suburban township and not a concrete jungle.This is one of the four main boulevards of Sibu Jaya, with the East Boulevard fully completed and beautifully landscaped.<\/p>\n

At a simple ceremony on Friday, Amcorp Properties managing director Ben Lee, deputy managing director Shahman Azman and Amcorp Group chief operating officer Azlan Baqee Abdullah were on hand to plant the first tree at the currently 600m long boulevard.<\/p>\n

The trio from Kuala Lumpur were on a site visit and wanted to impress upon the Sibu Jaya team that keeping the township green was of top priority.<\/p>\n

Lee also highlighted the fact that under the Sibu Jaya re-planning exercise overseen personally by the Minister for Housing, Datuk Amar Abang Abdul Rahman Johari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, a lot of emphasis was placed on the greening of the award-winning township.<\/p>\n

Among the key components of the re-planning exercise was the development of not just affordable housing but also medium to medium-high residential homes, the commercial development and, of course, the greening factor which sees the development of a beautiful and sprawling green belt and green lung totalling some 40 acres in size.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe minister had shared his vision with us and we are committed to realising it,\u201d Lee said.<\/p>\n

While the green lung and green belt will be undertaken by the authorities, Lee said as a responsible developer, Amcorp would not take a back seat but continue to play a proactive role in the creation of more greenscapes for Sibu Jaya.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to do everything possible to ensure that Sibu Jaya is a lush and green township. While we have achieved some measure of success with Institute Landscape Architect Malaysia representatives visiting us and giving us the thumbs up, we will work even harder to achieve even better results in the coming years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the way forward, there is no turning back,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n

The management team at Sibu Jaya was also in close contacts with Sibu Rural District Council on landscaping matters and would continue to seek the advice of the council as it played a proactive role in making Sibu Jaya the preferred residential and commercial township in central Sarawak, he added. Sibu Jaya has been in the media limelight of late for winning the prestigious Highly Commended Award for Best Residential Development (East Malaysia) at the South-East Asia Property Awards. Several years ago, it also picked up another award for Planning Excellence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

200 trees planted to mark \u2018greening\u2019 of Sibu Jaya\u2019s South Boulevard<\/h1>\n

SIBU: Another 200 trees have been planted along the South Boulevard as part of efforts to ensure that Sibu Jaya would remain a green suburban township.<\/p>\n

This follows the completion of beautification exercise of the Eact Boulevard \u2013 one of four main boulevards of the township.<\/p>\n

During a simple ceremony yesterday, Amcorp Properties managing director Ben Lee, deputy managing director Shahman Azman and group chief operating officer Azlan Baqee Abdullah planted the first few trees along the 600m South Boulevard.<\/p>\n

Lee highlighted that under Sibu Jaya re-planning exercise overseen personally by Housing Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, the emphasis had been on \u2018greening\u2019 of the award-winning township.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmong the key components of the exercise are the development of not just affordable housing but also medium to medium-high residential homes, commercial development and of course, the greening factor which sees the development of a beautiful and sprawling \u2018green belt\u2019 and \u2018green lung\u2019 covering some 40 acres.<\/p>\n

While the green areas would be undertaken by the authorities, Lee said as a responsible developer Distrepark would continue to play a proactive role as far as Sibu Jaya was concerned.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would do everything that is possible to ensure that Sibu Jaya remains a lush and green township.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we have achieved some measure of success with the Malaysian Institute of Landscape Architects (ILAM) representatives visiting us and giving us the thumbs-up, we will work even harder to achieve even better results in the coming years,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
