Sibu Jaya with a population of over 30,000 has grown to be an award-winning township through the joint effort of the government and the private sector.
The vibrant township of Sibu Jaya is experiencing a business boom lately as residents flock to the various shops for the coming festive season, bringing smiles to traders.With a population of around 30,000 people and another huge population bank from Kanowit, Durin, Selangau and surrounding longhouses, business in Sibu Jaya has been brisk over the last decade.
Developers should take the cue from Sibu Jaya township’s orderly development and excellent town planning, said Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) deputy chairman Robert Lau Hui Yew.

Another 200 trees have been planted along the South Boulevard of Sibu Jaya township as part of the continuous move to make the place a green breezy suburban township and not a concrete jungle.This is one of the four main boulevards of Sibu Jaya, with the East Boulevard fully completed and beautifully landscaped.
